Steps of creating your video content for your small business website

Key steps to consider when creating video for your business website

On this post, I have tried to highlight key steps you should consider when creating video content for your business website.

Identify your audience

Before coming to rest on an idea for your business video, take your time to know as much as you can about your audience. Focus on knowing what your audience wants to know, and what is already in the market that they are currently depending on.

Bring into line with your product goals

After you have singled out a topic for video content that you believe your target audience would benefit from, the next step is to decide how to structure it into a “problem/solution” format.

What problem or pain point does this specific video address? How does your product or service provide relief?? And how can this be done in real time?

Create the content / Shoot the video

There are some very professional videos out there that provide meaningless content and there are some poorly produced videos (from a production stand point) that provide fantastic answers.

Getting too hung up on production values can cause your video to never get made. In video marketing you certainly don’t want crap, but there is such a thing as “good enough”.

Create a transcript

Either create the transcript yourself and use a transcription service (such as rev.com that charges $1 per minute of video).

Post to YouTube AND to your blog

You need the transcript for your blog. Put the YouTube video at the top of the blog post, and paste the transcript in under the video.

Putting the transcript into the blog post is for purposes of SEO. Search engines aren’t yet good at searching videos.

Share and spread your content as much as possible

Already created your video?  You will now be set to post and share. To get the best results, consider spreading your video on your social media networks and/or where your audience spend much time online.  Check out the post Growing Organic Traffic and Leads with Video (YouTube) Marketing.

Measure your success

After creating useful content that is fitted toward your target audience while keeping in mind your products objectives, always remember to measure your success after some time.

This is done using both Google Analytics for your website and YouTube analytics for your YouTube channel.
