How to create interactive videos on your small business

How to make your video presentation more interactive

Video is the future content marketing.

Why? Because we love watching video as a way to learn new things. Whether it’s a talking head video, a screencast video of how to use a software tool, or whiteboard animation, video is a way to fairly concisely answer a question or make a point.

But what element of video marketing is set to dominate the future of content marketing?

Videos that provide answers.

These types of videos are nothing new in online marketing but this article will show you how to make your videos more interactive.

But what are interactive videos? To start with the basics, interactive videos are videos that gives the audience an opportunity to get involved in the conversation.

Most important point

Don’t make videos for the sake of making videos. Have something to say, know what you’re going to say. Structure what you’re going to say before you say it. Rambling videos of people talking for 20 minutes are not what we love. Short videos that answer questions and/or make good points are.

Interactive storytelling

Story telling is a great way to influence your viewers. While we tend to use the phrase “case study” to capture this idea, you’re telling a story of someone who had success overcoming obstacles.

Your audience wants to experience new things. Knowing that others had the same problems they have and worked through them are very inspiring.

Simplify complex information

This is harder than it sounds. Abraham Lincoln once put the following into long letter….

I’m sorry , I could not have written a short letter , but I did not have the time.

Take a little time to understand what your main point of the video is, then experiment with a few different ways of how to convey that main idea.

A little time invested in this activity will make for a much better video.

Ask questions in the video

The video will be available on YouTube and in one of your blog posts where people can submit comments and questions. Encourage people to do so by asking a question or two.

In conclusion, short focused videos that encourage involvement are a great way to improve the SEO of your website.
