How to grow your business with video marketing

How to invest and succeed in your video marketing strategy

For small and big businesses, video has been most frequently cited as the new digital frontier. There is no doubt that video is important to a comprehensive online marketing campaign.

Videos are best used by businesses to relay information to their audience. Also, for businesses that deals with advanced products, videos are used to showcase how their product is used.

How can businesses best make use videos?

In this article, we talk about how to effectively use video as part of your online marketing campaigns.

If you’ve determined that your business will  indeed benefit from adding or expanding on video, the following are some tips to make the most out of Facebook and YouTube video videos.

Facebook

Facebook has the best targeting capabilities which ensures you are reaching highly relevant audiences.

With Facebook Live, you can introduce your brand and explain its value to your audience.

For Facebook videos, always keep them short (30 seconds if possible). The main objective of these videos is to educate your users and by the number of views you get, you are able to know how many people have an interest in what is being discussed.

YouTube for remarketing

To make YouTube effective in your video marketing is to leverage for remarketing. You can use this channel to help educate your audience who were on your website but did not convert.

The best way to do this is to combine the YouTube video with your blog as follows. For every explainer or tutorial video you create, create a blog post that contains that video as well as a transcript or description of the video below the video (the description or transcript is for SEO purposes).

When you remarket to people (via email or social media messages) direct them to the blog post containing the video rather than the video itself.

The reasons for this are two fold: 1) This helps improve the SEO of your site as bringing people to your site helps make your site busier, and 2) In a blog post you can place a prominent CTA button directly below the video which you can not do directly on the YouTube video.

In closing,

As with all marketing, the key to success is consistency and longevity. It’s not enough to create a single video and expect people to flock to it. Rather it is necessary to publish a steady stream of these short videos the same way you publish a steady stream of blog posts.
