How to create the perfect content for your target audience

Content marketing allows your small business to connect with your target audience and build a strong relationship of trust.

However, it’s important for you as a small business owner to understand what exactly your readers need and want so that to provide them relevant content that provides solutions to their problems.

Therefore, the first step should be doing research. But… how do you find out what your potential customers need and want?

Listen and Ask Questions

In the course of being in business, prospects and customers ask you questions. Every question you’ve ever been asked is a blog post waiting to happen.

When you run out of questions people have asked you, start asking them.

Individually ask questions or ask your potential customers to complete a survey.

Remember to keep your survey short and clear so as your customers will be able to provide answers easily. If it’s “too hard” people won’t complete it.

Content Creation

Now that you have an understanding of what your potential customers want, creating relevant content becomes easier.

Also understand that people get information through various ways. Some prefer to read, others prefer to watch videos, infographics work for others.

Therefore, the greater the range of formats content you provide to your customers, the more audience reach your content has.

When creating content it is VERY important you make your content Search engine friendly.

Promote your content on social media networks.

After making your content, it is now time to expose it to as many people as possible.  Use social media networks to explore your content and expand it’s reach.

Additionally, make it easy for people to spread your content by including share buttons.
