Search engine optimization as an important piece of reaching prospects

For small businesses, search optimization is a critical piece of reaching your ideal prospects. This is because done right, it’s really cheap.

By done right I mean you learn how to do it in house, for a few hundred a month, rather than spend a few thousand a month on outside consultants.

Whether your brand is recognized globally or you are starting a new small business, search engine optimization is not something you can afford to ignore, even if you can’t afford to hire it out.

To attract more visitors who are looking for your products or services, apply the best practices of search engine optimization (more on this further down).

Search Engine Optimization has gone through major changes in the past 10 years until now.

In the past, search engine optimization was more technical tricks used to “fool” the search engines. Techniques like keyword stuffing worked.

But now, search engine optimization is a form of education marketing or consultative selling. You must publish stuff to your website that people actually find useful.

Search engine optimization is about creating and sharing relevant content. When you do this right you attract new visitors to your website and new prospects to your small businesses.

Creating relevant content both attracts new visitors and nurtures prospects and converts them into customers.

I don’t mean to overstate this, but it’s important. Search engine optimization is about providing educational content to help you keep your customers satisfied.

So what is the future of search engine optimization?

Search engines like Google, keep on gathering information and are starting to personalize search results to each and every searcher. Therefore it means that the results that I get will not be the results that you get.
