When visitors are on your website, what specific action do you want them to take? What is the first step in your sales funnel?

The action you want your Inbound Marketing website visitors to take is, of course, the first step in your sales funnel.

Conversion is the process of leading a person into becoming a prospect, then a visitors. That process is defined by what is called your Sales Funnel.

Your Sales Funnel is the sequence of events or steps, a person takes in the process of becoming a customer.

Website conversion is step 1 of the process WHEN YOUR WEBSITE IS PROPERLY STRUCTURED TO GENERATE LEADS!

The emphasis in the prior sentence is mine. I have encountered many business websites that are terrible at conversion.

So… when someone is on your website, what action do you want them to take? Answer this question first, then implement website conversion within your website.
