A/B testing is a method of testing similar but different ads, and similar but different landing pages, to see which one performs better.

For a PPC ad, better performance means that more people click the ad.

For a landing page, better performance means that more people do what the landing page instructs them to do (request a quote, fill out a form, buy a product, etc, etc.

People who work with PPC (pay per click) advertising should (and some do) perform A/B testing pretty much always.

They are constantly testing the effectiveness of ad A vs ad B and sometimes vs ad C.

They are also constantly testing the effectiveness of landing page A vs landing page B and sometimes vs landing page C.

When you rely on PPC for your website traffic, A/B testing becomes very important.
