local seo inbound marketing web page bounce and web site bounce rate

Local SEO Marketing | Glossary | Website Bounce and Bounce Rate

When a website visitor comes to your website, scans the selected article, then leaves your website without visiting any other pages, this is called a bounce.

The average number of times this happens on your website is your bounce rate.

A high bounce rate will lower your websites ranking with the major search engines.

If you are experiencing a high bounce rate, your content is not compelling enough.

This article is part of a series about local SEO marketing. For access to all the articles in the series, click on the link in the prior sentence.

You must either write more interesting content, and/or implement a page turning strategy which is nothing more than inducements to have the website visitor turn the page which is the term used when someone who is on a page on your website selects another page on your website.

One effective page turning strategy is to write articles in series, such as part 1, part 2, part 3, etc, and link the various articles in the series together.

It is not a coincidence most major websites do this and it is not a coincidence this series of articles is also written as a series.

Knowledge of bounce rate can change a lot in your seo strategy. There is a strong evidence that google does not use GA Data in ranking. For more information on this, you can visit this blog post: http://socialmediatoday.com/baawraman/1070231/bounce-rate-and-seo
