In the article on back links I explained how the more inbound links or back links the better and the more back links from high ranking websites the better still.
Well, the anchor text those back links originate from are taking into consideration by the search engines. If you have a lot of inbound links anchored to the text “local SEO marketing” your site will rank higher for the phrase “local SEO marketing”.
This is why anchor text is important to your search results.
