Why Small Business Online Marketing Services Don’t Attract Organic Traffic and Generate Leads

I’m not calling YOU stupid. That statement is directed at agencies and consultants who sell small business SEO packages for under $1,000 a month.

Why?

Because while SEO (Search Engine Optimization) adjustments made to your website was once enough to rank your website, it is no longer.

While you won’t rank without proper SEO, proper SEO is no longer enough.

Every time Google updates their search algorithm, they move us all further along in the same direction they’ve always moved us.

Towards one where the best content ranks the highest.

I understand “best” is a subjective term, but Google’s engineering focus is quantifying even that.

When Google ranks webpages, “best” means “most useful”, and Google hires human raters to “tag” webpages (we don’t see these tags, but Google does” as to how useful they are.

If you want to rank high on Google, you’ve got to publish useful stuff.

So Content Really is King?

Yes. In the world of online marketing, it’s publish or perish.

Not publishing guarantees an online presence very few people will ever see.

Where Does Economics Fit In?

Publishing takes time and effort. If you hire it out, you’ve got to pay them.

How much publishing does it take for effective Inbound Marketing?

About $2,500 a month worth, for several months.

This is why small business SEO packages for under $1,000 a month don’t deliver results.

That doesn’t buy enough effort to produce and promote enough content.
