Writing Quality Content Requires Practice and is Improved by Doing | Inbound Marketing Rule

The Best Way to Learn to Write, is to Start Writing

Hubspot produces some very good eBooks on a variety of topics, but I really have to give them kudo’s for their latest.

It’s so good I’m promoting it here in this blog.

The title is…

The Marketer’s Pocket Guide to Writing Well

Trust me. Download it. Read it.

For those of you who don’t want to download and read all 40 pages, allow me to very briefly summarize it for you.

Learning to Write is Done by Writing

You learned to walk by walking. Yes you fell down often, but you got up again.

You learned to ride a bicycle by riding a bicycle. Yes you fell down occasionally, but you got up again.

You learned to drive a car by driving a car. Yes you trashed your first car, but…..

In the same way, you learn to write by writing.

Yes your first 100 blog posts are going to suck. So what?

How else are you going to get good?

I’m reminded of the old joke….. Good decisions are the result of experience. Experience is the result of bad decisions.

When you don’t do, you don’t learn.

What Else YOU Need to do!

You need to find your rhythm and find your voice.

And those too are learned by doing.

When?

The best time to start is 5 years ago (that 10,000 hour thing). The second best time to start is now.

Are You Ready?
