You Should be Blogging
A recent article published in a leading search marketing publication provides 10 reasons you should be blogging.
It identifies very valid reasons without actually emphasizing the main point, without hitting the nail on the head so to speak.
How do You Increase Your Search Ranking?
With all the talk about this search signal and that search signals, blah, blah, blah, people often lose site of the basics.
The four strongest search signals are:
- How many posts are on your website?
- How well formatted for SEO are they?
- How often is your website updated?
- How long have you been doing this?
For all the various SEO techniques you can pursue, nothing beats what is above.
When you want your audience to show up at your website, here is what you do…..
Generate a lot of relevant and useful content, in relatively small bite sized chunks, at frequent intervals, and keep it up.
That activity is called “blogging”.
When you want your blogging to generate leads, you wrap that activity with your marketing intention.
What that specifically means is you understand what decision process your prospects go through in the course of becoming customers (for example) for me people follow a two step process: they first verify Inbound Marketing makes sense, and they then verify I can teach them how).
This your sales funnel. You then implement the first step or two of your sales funnel on your website via Calls to Action.
In my case it should be (and I should seriously do this):
- At the end of every blog post I suggest they review my success stories.
- During that process I suggest they contact me.
