Because an imperfect start is much better than a perfect delay. Your content strategy is critical, but when your content strategy isn’t perfect, start anyway.

Is Your Content Strategy Piece Meal and Ad Hoc?

If so, don’t stress it, at least not too early.

When it comes to Inbound and Content Marketing, an imperfect start is much better than a perfect delay.

While having a sound content strategy is a great idea, if your content strategy feels is little “squishy” (for lack of a better word), start anyway.

Doing Content Marketing Improves Your Content Marketing.

As with everything in life, the best way to learn to do something is to do it until you get good at it.

So if at first your overall strategy is lacking, and you feel your initial posts are nothing to brag about, get started and don’t brag about them.

I once fell for a joke (of sorts) that makes an important point. I was handed a pamphlet about the size of a paperback book.

The title was “How to Excel at Anything!”.

When I opened the pamphlet, there was one word written in the center of the page.

It said….. “Practice!”

Longevity is a Key Search Signal

All other things being equal (and of course they never truly are) websites that have been around longer rank higher.

So every day you delay is one day of website content you’re not creating.

The screenshot below shows what is called the Google Sandbox Effect.

This is where Google doesn’t rank a website until it’s been around long enough to “earn it dues” in a manner of speaking.

What’s More Important? Getting Everything Right? Or Starting Now?

When it comes to Content or Inbound Marketing, they’re both important, but getting started now has the higher sense of urgency.
