What is Social Media Marketing and How Does it Generate Leads?

There seem to be about as many opinions about what social media marketing is and is not as there are “experts” able to have such an opinion.

So what is the real deal? Where is the ROI?

I know some will disagree with this next statement, but I’ve seen hard and fast data to back it up.

Now industry publications are started to publish studies that make this claim as well.

98% of social media marketing is YOUR content, on YOUR website, under YOUR URL.

The other 2% is making it easy for your website users to share that content via various Social Networking Sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc, etc.

Look at the chart in this post.

In this instance, most of the traffic tot his website is from organic search. Organic search is the result of updating your website with useful and relevant content at regular intervals and they come to YOUR website which is hosted under YOUR URL.

Think about it….

When you promote having your friends and family Like your business Facebook page, are they doing so because they truly have an interested in your product or service? Or are they doing so because you asked them to. Often it’s the latter.

When someone comes to your website because one or more pages on your website most closely matched their search query, how likely are they to be genuinely interested in your product or services? Very likely!

Do yourself a favor, learn how to attract your crowd using the NOT magic of organic search!

Need traffic? Need leads?
