Content marketing as a major marketing strategy for your small business, starts while designing your small business website.

Developing effective content on your small business website entails the following.

Match words on your content with search queries

Often! Searchers click on links which complement their search inquiries. After all, they’re searching for a reason.

Therefore….do research about search queries before coming up with your content. This is what we call keyword research.  Sprinkle those terms within your content as appropriate.

But as much as you create content that contains search queries also provide relevant and informative content as IT is the much needed thing for which the user is doing their search in the first place.

Consider your content Structure

This refers to your blog post category names, and the visual layout of your blog posts. Category names provide some SEO benefit and white space on the screen makes your blog posts easier to read.

Consider the loading time of your content

Make sure your content takes as little time as possible when loading. Page load time is an SEO ranking factor.

The 2 things that are easily within your control are: 1) Eliminate unneeded WordPress plugins. Each plugin adds some load to the system, and 2) Beef up your hosting plan if needed.

Over time these strategies increases the number of visitors to your website in search for relevant content.

But…It is necessary to really focus on content that provides real answers to real questions.
