The importance of landing pages to small business

You know your small business needs a website to effective grow your online presence, but a good website is not enough.

In order to generate leads, and make sales then having a well designed landing page is needed.

So what are the importance of landing pages to small business?

The purpose of a landing page is to convert a website visitors into a lead, by persuading them to click through to a particular action.

A landing page can simply be defined as a single page with a specific visitors action intended. For example, encouraging your visitors to download an eBook in exchange for leaving their contact information.

What does this mean?

In terms of landing page content, be clear about what your visitors will get, why they want it, and what they need to do to get it.

The design of your landing pages should be simple and presentable enough to gain the attention of your visitors to complete your desired action.

The goal of your landing page should be to make as many visitors as possible click through.

For your landing page to achieve its purpose, you must attract traffic to it. This is done in a variety of ways: CTAs at the bottom of blog posts, social media updates, emails, etc.

Creating a Landing Page for small business

 

Effective landing pages follow the motto of “less is more”.

They are uncluttered, they clearly state the value to the visitors, and they show the visitor what they need to do to realize that value.

They also do not provide a lot of options. Ideally (if your WordPress theme supports it) landing pages should not even have menus. On a perfect landing page there are 2 paths to get off the page: 1) Complete the action, and 2) hit the back button.
