The Importance of Keyword Research
Once upon a time, keyword research was very important to getting your Inbound Marketing efforts started quickly. With good keyword research, you could see tangible results in 3 or 4 months, rather then 8 or 9.
Hummingbird is a major algorithm update. It can be considered the equivalent of installing a better engine in a car. Other updates (Penguin, Panda, etc) are not as major and can be considered to be putting in better spark plug wires or a better air filter.
Do Keywords no Longer Matter?
In Terms of Inbound Marketing Strategy, How do I Use this Information?
I’m big on practical knowledge.
What you do is:
1) Keyword stuff your blog posts titles.
2) Do NOT keyword stuff your blog posts themselves.
3) Use a “related content” plugin to display other keyword stuff titles somewhere on the website.

Do NOT Keyword Stuff Your Articles
As a result of keyword stuffing titles and displaying the titles of related posts within every post, you can display relevant keyword phrases on your web pages without having to keyword stuff the articles themselves.
This frees you up to write for people, not search engines, but still provide the search engines with a sufficient numbers of keyword phrases per web page so the search engine bots can more easily determine what your website is about.
