Content Marketing Buzzword Alert
Visual Content Marketing….
It first came to my awareness through a post on JeffBullas.com.
In all fairness, there is a place in content marketing for visual content (video mostly, some images), but when I read the article, none of the rules can really be considered new.

I personally might sum the whole list up in one law I called The Law of Publishing, but that’s just me.
The basic idea is on target. For most of us, our dominate sense is sight. If we were trying to appeal to dogs we would want things that stimulate the mind through the sense of smell. But we’re not.
We’re trying to appeal to people.
I ran across an interesting statistic while putting this post together. People recall what they saw 8 time better than they recall what they read.
Hence the value of video.
So as much as I’m always on the lookout for new buzzwords to ridicule, this one makes sense.
Know What Video Does and Video Does Not Do
Video does not attract more people to your website via organic search (who are the best visitors EVER). Video does create stronger and more lasting impressions with the people who do show up.
To get the best of both worlds, you embed a video in your blog post for the people, AND you describe the video with written text for the search engine.
