Local SEO Marketing | Helping Your SEO Consultant Help You

Helping ensure a good outcome for your local SEO marketing efforts requires your provider to obtain information from you.

This post gives an overview of some important questions your SEO consultant should ask.

If they do not ask, their efforts can not be as focused as they should be.

This list is by no means all inclusive, and are intended to provide a sampling to you, a business looking to hire an SEO consultant.

Who is your target audience?

Specifically whom do we wish to attract to your website?

What is your primary message?

What do you want to say to your target audience?

What is your sales funnel, and what specific action or actions do you want your web  visitors to take?

  • Sign up for your newsletter?
  • Contact you for more information?
  • Buy something?

You will implement a CTA (Call to Action) and must know what it will be.

In 10 words or less, what is your business and your website about

This will become the website “tagline”.

What “Categories” make sense (I’m assuming you use WordPress)?

Posts will be assigned to categories. There needs to be a “thread” from the website tagline, to the categories, to the post titles, and to the post contents. Well chosen category names matter.

Where will images come from?

Avoid any copyright issues and deal with this up front. Images matter. Every post needs one.
