The answer is both “no” and “yes”.
We’ve helped clients generate leads through the websites over and over without the use of ANY video. So strictly speaking, it is not necessary.
Strictly speaking, video is not searchable. Only text is searchable. In order for your video to be searchable, you need two things:
- To describe the video well.
- A voice over sound track (Google can do do “talk to text” in order to search a video). If your video is images and music, the search engine robots will never know what it is about.
I’m sure you’ve heard the “know, like, trust” mantra of marketing. People like to do business with people they know, like, and trust. When you’re selling to a large audience and you’re building a brand around yourself, video can help “kick start” your efforts.
Even before people meet you, then can get a sense of who you are and what you stand for.
