What are the myths of marketing automation?

Is marketing automation a fire and forget solution? Get the truth

Has your small business adopted marketing automation yet in your small business?

There are many myths about marketing automation and this article should dispel the big ones for your before you jump in.

So what is marketing automation? Marketing Automation is a tool (software program) that automates some marketing activities. Mostly email marketing campaigns, but in the future I expect these systems to also make use of social media messaging.

But remember that it’s not a guarantee that as soon as you acquire marketing automation software all your marketing issues are solved. Marketing automation is not a turn key solution where you simply click a button and everything falls in place.

The success of your marketing automation depends on the impact you put on your strategy to help you solve issues that you previously experienced with manual processes.

So is it true that marketing automation is a plug and wait solution?

NO.

Marketing automation is more of a rinse and repeat solution, where it takes several iterations to get things tuned and running well.

Marketing automation is just a tool that allows you to be smart with email  marketing activities. Marketing automation helps you track your leads easier and helps you act quickly on your qualified leads.  Marketing automation helps your sales and marketing team align their activities to streamline your efforts.

However, the idea that Marketing Automation allows you to just press a button and sit back to wait for results is something being sold, but not something that actually exists.

There is work required to put your marketing campaigns on the right truck. Maintaining a marketing program needs time and effort and that’s the TRUTH about it.
