The Head of Google’s Webspam Team Recommends WordPress

The single most important technical aspect of your Inbound Marketing website is not really technical, but it frees you up from having to deal with technical complexity.

It is….. Use WordPress for your Inbound Marketing web server. Understand that Inbound Marketing is a professionally sounding name for Business Blogging.

Watch the video below. It’s one minute and 14 seconds long. It is part of the keynote address Matt Cutts gave at WordCamp 2009 in San Francisco.

In case you didn’t watch the video, what Matt said is WordPress takes care of 80 to 90 percent of the mechanics of SEO (without you having to know the technical details).

Matt works for Google. Google has a blogging platform named Blogger. You would think that in support of Google’s commercial interests he might promote the use of Blogger. He does not. He promotes the use of WordPress and he personally uses WordPress for his websites.

For me, his recommendation is sound. When the head of the Google WebSpam team not only endorses but uses WordPress because of its SEO features, so do I.
