Hi I’m Kevin Carney, the principal instructor with Inbound Marketing University, bringing you today’s Inbound Marketing Minute.

Today’s question is “What does it take to actually do Inbound Marketing on the cheap?”

The first answer, the very high level answer is…  it takes commitment to the effort.

Specifically what does that mean?

You or someone on your team is going to devote one to two hours a day to the activities necessary to make Inbound Marketing work.

So what are those activities?

Specifically the publishing of content and networking within your community to share that content.

The publishing of content is important because that is you putting your face out to the world and you do in a way that gets the attention the search engines, who then bring you your desired audience through organic search.

However there’s this dynamic in terms of being found that in order to be found you have to have already been found.

That’s where networking come in. It helps prime the pump.

You participate in a community of people who share each other’s content and from an SEO perspective share means: link to, comment upon, and share via social media.

So through these two activities of publishing and networking through the Internet, you life the search profile your website as well as the websites of other members in your community.

So in a nutshell that’s what it takes.

However that takes one to two hours a day on a fairly continuous, not fairly continuous, but on a continuous basis.
