Tips for optimizing your videos

How to increase engagement with your video marketing

There are many ways of increasing engagement with your video marketing strategy but this post specifically focus on how to optimize your video for Search Engine Optimization.

There is no doubt that video marketing for small businesses is an important new content marketing channel. Small businesses who are jumping on the trend of incorporating video into their marketing strategies (i.e. email marketing and social media marketing strategies) will reap the benefits.

Some potential customers and other members of your audience respond well to video. This is because video content can be made engaging and it is an easy way for your customers to digest information.

But how do you optimize your video for SEO?

For small businesses, there are numerous ways to increase the chances that your videos are seen.

Include keywords in your title. This makes your video searchable. To score your titles check out the CoSchedule Headline Analyzer tool.

Add a call to action.  A call to action keep viewers engaged with your content. It can be telling your viewers to watch the next video. For YouTube these can be implemented as YouTube cards. When you embed the YouTube video into a blog post, the card will show and additionally you should add an additional visually obvious Call to Action button.

Optimize your video title. Your titles should have 60 characters or less with no word reused. Using a word twice in the same title reduces the number of search queries your video will match.

Get the most out of tags. Platforms like YouTube allows you to tag up to 120 characters. So use them all with more keyword usage.

Add your video to a playlist. Add all your videos to a relevant playlist to increase the possibility that visitors engage with additional content once the video has played.

The above is just but a strategy to increase engagement with your potential customer using video marketing.
