How to make a landing page that converts

How to improve your landing pages for conversions

Most small business landing pages are poorly designed and by adhering to landing page best practices, could convert at a MUCH higher rate.

Is your landing page under performing for you?

Simply creating a landing page for your small business does not mean new leads. Your landing pages MUST be optimized properly for conversions, which is neither difficult nor mysterious.

So…what makes a landing page convert?

Landing pages should be sparse

Most landing pages are too crowded. Consider that most of us do not read online, we scan. We read when our scanning shows us something that catches our eye.

Your landing pages should be easy to scan and a website visitors should be able to QUICKLY determine what you’re offering (eBook, newsletter signup, etc) in exchange for what (name, email address, etc).

Your headlines should play to your audience basic needs

Your landing page headline is the first thing your visitor see and therefore it must make an instant impact on them.

Your headline should not just explain what your small business is all about but it should also tell your visitors why they clicked on you.

Your headline implies a promise, be clear on what it is.

Use gifs of video to demonstrate your product or service.

To show value to your visitors, demonstrating how your product or service helps them is very significant.

Using gifs or video, you are able to explain to your visitors how your product or service is used more quickly than using written words.

But don’t think expensive. Animation videos can be obtained cheap via fiverr (the animation video on the home page of this website cost less than $16).

There are free tools on the Internet that create GIFs from videos.

Use bullet points rather than paragraphs

This is all about making your landing page more scanable. We (generally) read bullet lists faster than we read paragraphs.
