Social media plays a strong supporting role in your content marketing, just having followers and publishing more and more content is only the start.

Audience engagement tells you if what you’re saying is having an impact. Engagement needs to be how you measure the effectiveness of your social media marketing.

For a successful engagement, focus on likes, clicks, comments, and shares.

Also providing some level of customer support through social media marketing can be very impactful. The following are some of the ways on how to increase social media engagement rates.

Check on your social media reports and analytics

Understand your social media position by checking on how your audience behaves. Look at what is performing best and also what is not performing. This helps you to know what topics and strategies need improvements. Generally, learn how you perform by going through your social media reports.

Use images

Studies have confirmed that adding an image in your social media gets you more engagement. Images play as visual content and posts with images on social media get more interactions than those without images.

Questions based post

Question based post always get more interactions than others, but work on asking good questions. While some people will answer almost any questions, some questions have more legs than others.

Remember that dress that almost broke the Internet about 18 months ago? Or that oxford comma tweet that everybody passed onto everybody else. At the very least we learned that while Marissa Mayer personally always uses one, it is never used in Yahoo blog posts.
