What are some of the best landing pages best practices?

How to bring more customers with landing page best practices

What is a landing page? A landing page is a tool that is capable of generating interest, curiosity and make someone want to provide you their contact information, in exchange for something they consider to be of value.

Landing pages are THE standard was of turning website visitors into leads.

So what defines a good landing page?

Landing page optimization increases conversion rates, and sometimes drastically so. Landing page optimization best practices include the following:

How will your landing page be found?

Landing pages don’t have a lot of text and generally don’t directly provide answers. As such they rarely show up in a search engine result page. That being the case, how do people get to your landing page? From a CTA in a blog post? From a paid ad? Other?

The key idea here is the landing page should continue whatever conversion occurred on the page they came from.

How long do you have to get their attention?

Just a few seconds. I’ve read 11 max. This requires you to get straight to the point. You want to list the benefits of accepting your offer in a bullet list format. Keep it short, be clear, and speak to benefits, not features.

What is the interaction level of your landing page?

They either see a form in the landing page, or once they click a button on the landing page. The more stuff you ask for, the most people will NOT fill it in. So be careful in determining how much detail you need.

If you’re business is new and you’re desperate for leads to follow up on, ask for a bare minimum of information. On the other hand if you’re drowning in leads and only want the most serious leads to fill out the form, ask for 11 pieces of information, as that will weed out the visitors who aren’t serious.
