How do Small Businesses Afford Expensive Content Marketing to Increase Visitors and Grow Leads?

The Good and the Bad of Content Marketing

The good is it really works! When you need to grow your audience and generate leads, nothing beats it.

The bad news is Content Marketing is expensive. The reason it’s expensive is because you need a part time journalist working within or attached to your business constantly looking for story ideas, writing, editing, scheduling, and publishing. This person also needs to layer your marketing intentions on top of this.

By marketing intentions I don’t just mean “leads” and “sales”, but the step by step process of walking something through the steps from website visitors to customer. This person needs to understand what that looks like for your customers and prospects and create appropriate landing pages that walk someone through their buying decision process one step at a time.

Because all that is fairly involved, fees for digital agencies typically run $2,500+ per month.

Small businesses simply can’t afford that.

Hope is Not Lost: It Can be Done on the Cheap

The amazing ability of Inbound Marketing (I use the terms Inbound and Content to mean the same thing even though they’re slightly different) is not lost because you lack budget.

You can do this mostly with sweat equity.

My goal is to bring the power of this tool to small business. I want to level the playing field a bit. I want to give small business some of the advantage of big business. Inbound Marketing helps make this happen.

You or someone else in your business can take the lead on this effort and start. It will take them 1 to 2 hours a day, and it gets you going.
