How to do SEO on Your Own (If You’re Crazy Enough to Attempt it)

The point of the article is that SEO is hard. It’s complex. It requires specialized knowledge.

You should use a professional to do it for you.

I think they’re trying to sell you something.

Let’s discuss those points one at a time.

SEO is Hard

Using WordPress as your website, the technical aspects of SEO are easy. Consistent publishing is the harder part.

Technical SEO is the part where you ensure the various SEO parameters of your website, your blog posts, and your images are properly filled out. With WordPress you simply set of few settings, install a few plugins (and set their settings), then fill in the fields and save your work.

But technical SEO is not enough. Every WordPress website comes “SEO ready”.

What gets websites found is not SEO per se, but publishing. Lots of publishing.

SEO is Complex

Prior to modern website platforms (for example WordPress) it was. Today it’s not. You simply install a few good plugins, turn them on, configure them properly, and fill out fields.

The complexity is gone.

SEO Requires Specialized Knowledge

Again, it used to. But since you’ll use WordPress you don’t have to worry about that stuff. Install the new needed plugins, use them, and you’re good to go.

Then Way do so Many Websites Not Rank?

Because to be found today you have to publish. You have to publish regularly and frequently. Publishing has to become part of your day to day activities.

You have to systematize it so the creating blog posts, short explainer videos, and “how to” tutorials become part of the day to day activity of your business.

The good news is that while it sounds hard, any small business can do it, and the ones who do win.
