The truth is your Inbound Marketing results depend upon striking a balance between the two AND doing both better than your competition.
Life is an endless series of trade offs, and this is no different.
We know an attorney in San Francisco who specializes in immigration law. He publishes one well researched high quality blog post every day. They run about 800 to 1,000 words and over time he has developed an amazing repository of useful content.
It took him 7 years to make it to page 1 within a Google SERP.
Zippe.biz provides Inbound Marketing services as well as teaches YOU to generate leads through Inbound Marketing on your own (with our guidance and coaching).
If you want such results in months, rather than years, you need to adjust the strategy.
I call this the Wikipedia effect. Wikipedia shows up in every SERP because it is a massive repository of posts which is constantly being updated.
The closer you come to this within your business niche, the higher your website will rank.
Publishing more frequent and shorter posts (for example, 3 posts a day of 250 words each) is an effective way to do both.
In some ways, it is a preferable strategy as it provides your ideas and answers in smaller more easily digested chunks. It makes you content “bite sized” if you will.
To realize the effectiveness of this aspect of the strategy, think of your own searching patterns. When you’re looking for an answer, when is the last time you found that answer near the end of a 1,000 word document?
If you’re like most of us, shorter is better as it brings you to your answer quicker.
