You must “earn it” in every sense of the word.
You must persevere in your efforts until your website is sufficiently aged for Google to consider it to be a source of authority for the topics about which you publish.

So exactly how long is “longevity”?
There is no exact answer, but we have seen time and time again, that when you consistently publish multiple times each day for 7 to 12 months, you experience what I call “The Plateau Effect”.
What this means is your average daily/weekly/monthly traffic levels will raise in a somewhat linear fashion up until the plateau, then all of a sudden, seemingly overnight, your daily/weekly/monthly traffic levels increase 20 times (sometimes less, sometimes more) and you reach a new “plateau”.
Based on this observation, I feel comfortable saying that for most topics, longevity means you stay the course for 7 to 12 months.
Whether or not that seems very far off in the future, or a short wait depends on your perspective.
However, in view of this need for longevity, and this observed plateau effect, you must consider Inbound Marketing to be a marathon, not a sprint.
