ABCs of Inbound Marketing: YouTube: Traffic and Conversion

Why does my website need video?

If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a thousand times: You need to use video in your website to improve both rankings and conversions.

Is it true?

Ranking: No.

Conversion: Yes.

Zippe.biz provides Inbound Marketing services as well as teaches YOU to generate leads through Inbound Marketing on your own (with our guidance and coaching).

Why YouTube? Why not some other video service?

Because Google owns YouTube and because Google also “owns” search (at least most of the market) and has a way of making things they own relevant (Google Plus for example), I suggest you use YouTube exclusively and not spend time on other platforms.

Ranking

Never forget that video is not in and of itself searchable. What is searching is the voice to text transcription Google is able to do of the video. This means your videos should contain clear voice tracks and little to no music. Anything that might interfere with the voice to text translation is to be avoided.

To increase visibility you should (I STRONGLY suggest) describe your video with a paragraph or two of text you know the search engines will be able to find.

Additionally, use one set of words in the blog post in which you embed the YouTube video and another set of words on the page on YouTube where the video is viewed. This provides more combinations of words for the search engine to match.

Conversions

Here is where video comes into it’s own. If your product or service can be explained best with a video, do so, then implement a two part conversion strategy on your website.

At the end of each blog post invite your readers to view your demo video. At the end of your demo video invite your readers to buy, or to contact you, or whatever makes sense for your business.

However…. (and this is really important)…. keep it short! No more than 60 seconds per video.

Need more traffic, more leads, more business? We can help.
