3 Trends in Inbound and Content Marketing in 2015 to Increase Traffic and Generate Leads

Where is Inbound Marketing Going?

The Internet is awash in crap content, which uses many words to say practically nothing, because not that long ago, generating and publishing that crap caused search engines to rank your websites high in in their SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages).

Fortunately, as Google updates their algorithms (which they do more than once a day) they’re eliminating more and more technical tricks as the basis for a high ranking, and actually ranking quality content higher than crap.

This trend is at least starting.

Here are my predictions on successful Inbound Marketing trends for the next few years.

Quality Articles and Stories Will Rank Higher

The purpose of the various Google algorithm updates is to filter out Web Spam, which is web pages that have succeeded in ranking high based on technical tricks.

We (those of us outside the Google Webspam team) only have the Google search result quality guidelines go to by.

The algorithm is so complex I sometimes wonder if the individuals on the Webspam team even fully understand it. Maybe no one person can grasp the whole thing.

Matt Cutts? I’m curious for your opinion on this.

What we do know is some things the Google bots do NOT do:

  • They do not think.
  • They do not read.

From there it’s possible to infer what they must do, which is:

  • Pattern recognition
  • Statistical analysis
