How to boost your business in a great way using email marketing

For small businesses, email marketing is an effective communication tool for reaching your customers and also a good way of making and maintaining a strong relationship with your existing and new potential customers.

A properly optimized email marketing strategy has many advantages to your small business including i.e. positive product/service image, enhanced credibility, strong relationship, and lead growth.

However, email marketing can be just another way of spamming.

But Email marketing has the opposite impact when carried out correctly.

Therefore…. smart small business owners always encourage effectiveness and ethics in doing their business, including with the email messages they send.

Ethics in Email marketing means:

  1. People opt in to your email newsletters.
  2. You set an expectation of what your newsletter will contain.
  3. You meet that expectation with every newsletter.
  4. You teach rather than sell.

Formation of Email Lists

A popup on your website (look at the SumoMe WordPress plugin) is a great way to build your list. Just be sure to set the right expectation in your invitation message.

Consistent Branding

Consistency is the KEY to your small business success when it comes to branding and this includes email.

With email marketing, be consistent in your message to your clients with your product in terms of layout and design.

Send an email a week, but keep them short, and get to the point.

Make your email messages look like your website. By this I mean that you should include either your logo etc.  and match the header of your email to the header of your website.

Format your email in a way that makes it easy to digest the main point quickly. In the same way that your blog posts contain white space, your email messages must contain white space.
