How to fit inbound marketing strategy in your marketing mix

What is inbound marketing? Is it worth it for small businesses or is it a waste of time?

Inbound marketing is defined as the ability to use content effectively to generate leads and make sales. The concept of inbound marketing is simple. Use your blogs, videos, email and other type of content to attract people to your business.

Inbound marketing is the cheap and easy way small businesses can market themselves (when done right). But are there better ways small businesses can earn more from their inbound marketing efforts?

The following are some advice on inbound marketing to small businesses

Yes, inbound marketing is all about content. Content is the king, but customers experience is something to focus on.

Focusing on customers experience will increase some dollars in your returns as it will help you create better content. The content you create in your inbound strategy must be relevant and useful. Focusing on the customer experience helps. Don’t waste time creating content that your audience is likely to think is not interesting or relevant (to clarify, interesting stores are sometimes not directly relevant to your business and that’s fine).

Creating content for your small business takes time and money. You either need to write it yourself or you need to hire content writers and train your staff on some inbound marketing basics.

Focusing on customer experience will guide what content you pubish. Your customers are your assets and you win when you keep that in mind.

Improve your customer experience by talking to your customers about their experience with your business and using their feedback for blog topic ideas.

The main objective of inbound marketing is acquiring new leads using content and to help you do that, before moving into inbound marketing think a bit about who you wish to attract, and what types of stories are likely to interest them.
