What is search engine optimization and what does it entails?

Why businesses should invest their time and money on SEO

Is SEO worth the time and money for small businesses?

With the limits of time and resources, you need to focus on what will get you the most bang for your buck, and done properly, that IS SEO.

But there key concept here is “done properly”. There is a lot written about SEO that is not only not helpful, but is diversion away from what you need to focus on.

In this article, I showcase search engine optimization as a tool for attracting visitors and high quality leads to and through your business website.

So why should you invest your time and money on search engine optimization?

It works!

First things first. What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization is the practice of modifying your business website to make it rank higher on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

Remember that the higher you rank, the more traffic you get.

What does search engine optimization entails?

Publishing!!!!!! THE CORE ACTIVITY is publishing.

Managing links on your site,

Optimizing page load speeds,

Ensuring page designs are responsive etc.

With search engine optimization, you generate organic traffic to your website. In this case, it means you’re not paying for advertisement to get traffic but they come naturally, organically.

Search engine optimization unlike ppc is a process of slow steady incremental improvements. But in the long run, nothing delivers higher quality leads and nothing delivers cheaper leads.

SEO is important for companies that:

  • Have a tight budget AND
  • Need to build long-term success

For small businesses, using SEO through regular and frequent publishing of useful content generates the highest quality leads any business can hope for. That’s because they find you.
