Why Blog Post Titles are Critical to Successful Local SEO Marketing

The most valuable real estate in your entire blog is the title of your blog posts.

This is because the search engine robots pay special attention to them.

Good titles will enhance your efforts. Bad titles will hinder.

So how do you create good high quality SEO titles that help your Inbound Marketing efforts?

It’s easier than most people think.

Use longer titles

You have 70 characters to use. USE THEM!! That allows you 7 or 8 words.

You want to use as many of the 70 characters as you can without going over. Ideally you do not use any words from your title twice. This gives you more combinations of words the search engines will index your post for.

Imply a promise, imply a benefit

Your title is a headline. You should imply a benefit or promise to your reader. We LOVE that stuff!!! And it’s good marketing.

In addition to being very important for the search engine robot, your title (along with your meta-description) are the first chance you have to appeal to a human being.

Write a title that implies there is good and useful information to be in in the post.

Top 10 lists work

For whatever reason, the human mind loves “Top 10 uses of…”, “5 best ways to…”, etc, etc, etc. This is a great title format for your evergreen posts.
