How do you create great content to increase your visibility?

What is a great content? 3 elements to consider when writing

Great content attracts, educates, entertains, and moves people to take some action. Great content also establishes your website as authoritative and educational, and help you build your audience.

Therefore by creating great content, you expose website visitors to your Calls to Action and through them to your products and services.

So what are the elements of a great content?

Let’s discuss together.

Language

Don’t use big words (unless you’re writing for a very technical audience). The absolute best advise on how to write is the Kansas City Star Style Guide that was giving to Ernest Hemmingway when he first hired on as a reporter. Hemmingway credited it with helping him write in a way people liked to read. It can work for you to.

Structure

Content can be disseminated in different format ranging from blog, videos, webinars etc.

With blogs, there are various structural elements you need to consider when creating your content.

On your blog structure, consider the following.

Paragraph Density: Present LOTS of white space. This make your posts easier to scan.

Sentence Count: No more than 2 sentences in every paragraph.

and Word Count: Snippet posts are 200-300 words and answer one question or convey one main idea. Pillar posts are longer, better researched, and contain supporting charts and tables as needed.

Pillar posts are not quite scholarly, but structured well to convey your points and arguments. While you can get away without creating outlines for snippet posts, you should definitely create outlines when writing pillar posts.

Headlines

To increase your content visibility and social shares, content headline is the point to focus.

Optimize your headline in the following ways

Character Counts: At least 55 and not more than 70.

Emotion: Use words that “feel” rather than words that “think”.

Question: How to…headline.

Strong headlines increase click rate to your content. One thing you need to remember is that your headline should go hand in hand with your content. The headline is the appetizer, the post is the main course.

Another important element of great content is to time when and how to share your content on to your audience.

On your website, schedule post to publish at least every 12 hours for SEO purposes (the key here is not so much when as being consistent in how often you publish. Noon and midnight are just as good as 6 am and 6 pm.

On your social media accounts, know peak hours to post, which you learn from a number of the social media tools such as Hootsuite and Buffer.
