Why landing pages are not optional to small businesses

The importance of landing pages with everlasting content

An Inbound marketing strategy is based on elements that together ensure the success of the entire strategy.

The main components are content, search engine optimization, and landing pages.

The concept of landing pages is easy to grasp, but many small business websites still do them poorly. Unfortulatly your Inbound Marketing campaign will fail with poorly designed landing pages.

A landing page is a page on your website where users land on and are expected to perform some specific action. For example download an eBook, make a donation, sign up for an email newsletter, etc.

You may be wondering why you need a landing page on your website. It all depends on the nature your business and the purpose of your website.

For your website to become a powerful tool to generate leads, you need at least one landing page.

Thousands if not millions of people are researching for solutions to their problems (which can be your product or service) and landing pages on websites are the gates for conversions.

As an online marketer, you understand that content is the king. But marketing is still queen and she rules the castle. On your landing pages, you want to must stick to tried and true marketing practices.

  • Be sparse
  • Be clear
  • Be definite
  • Promote benefits not features
  • Tell them what you action you want them to take
  • Make it easy to take
  • Make it obvious how to take

However….

Not every landing page converts. For those that do convert, think about recycling them (most small business websites wind up with multiple landing pages for different products, services, offers, etc.

Some landing pages are time-sensitive.  For example If you offer an eBook on the ‘How to improve your content marketing strategy in 2016,” the offer might expire in the fall of 2016.

For effective inbound marketing for small businesses, landing pages are key to conversion. No landing pages or poorly designed landing pages equals no conversion.
