Social media marketing best practices for small businesses.

The best practices when building your social strategy for success

Social media marketing allows the distribution of great content for your audience to interact with you.

One of the beauties of social media marketing is that doesn’t take much efforts to start seeing results but social media marketing is not as simple as scheduling a few posts and tweets.

While consistency of “presence” matters, how you use that presence matters as well.

Achieving on social media involves the following…

Target Specific Personas

Marketing content is most effective when it reaches the right audience at the right stage in their decision process. Therefore, it helps greatly to define who your customer is, make up an arbitrary persona, map out the steps she likely goes through before buying from you, publish content for the various stages of her buying process. Then share that content.

Bear in mind to consider beliefs and values (of your prospect) when you write, as well as what might be called “the mechanics” of their decision.

Align your different platforms with your goals

Different people hang out on different social media platforms. Take that into consideration when planning your social media strategy. Where do your people hang out?

Track your Results

This of course is true of all marketing, especially online marketing. Use the analytics tools with whatever social media scheduling tool you’re using to know what works best (and what doesn’t) in your social campaigns.

Social media marketing gives you the opportunity to share content with your audience in a trusted environment where you can interact and engage. If someone says something, respond.

Social media marketing allows you to connect with people on the platforms they like.
