Internet Marketing Strategy | Technical Aspects of Inbound Marketing

This post is part of a series about the Internet marketing strategy I call Inbound Marketing. To access the lead post please click the link in the prior sentences.

I know I keep hammering home the importance of content and publishing as the central activity of Inbound Marketing.

Every aspect of Inbound Marketing supports the central activity of content and publishing without which you have nothing, but content and publishing is in and of itself not enough.

Zippe.biz helps you generate quality leads for your business through your website.

All the other pieces have to be put in place as well. There are important technical aspects to Inbound Marketing.

Use WordPress

As a web server platform WordPress is now just over 10 years old, and slightly more than 1 in 5 web servers runs on WordPress. Why? A variety of reasons:

  • WordPress makes it easy (and cheap) to publish content to the web.
  • WordPress implements many of the important aspects of SEO in a way that hides the technical details from you.

Install needed plugins

Some of the important technical aspects of SEO are implemented via plugins, which in the world of WordPress is a specific function implemented within a specific bit of code, which “plugs in” to your WordPress framework.

Modify needed settings

WordPress has various settings some of which are important to SEO.

Submit Your Site to Google Webmasters Tools

Google Webmasters Tools gives you a Google eye view of your website. If Google sees issues or errors, this is the tool that tells you before they hurt your search ranking.

Submit a Sitemap to Google

You do this via Google Webmasters Tools

In Summary

Use WordPress!!!! Not only is the software free, it’s of very high quality, it’s supported by a very active community of millions of users many of whom are very technical, and most importantly from an SEO perspective, it makes complying with the technical aspects of SEO really easy for people who are not technical.
