Why are short posts better for attracting your audience?

Internet Marketing Strategy | Short Posts Attract Web Visitors Better

This post is part of a series about the Internet marketing strategy I call Inbound Marketing. To access the lead post in this series, please click the link in the prior sentence.

This post is also part of a short sub-series on attracting your audience.

The specific focus of this post is to explain why short posts are better for attracting your audience via organic search.

Zippe.biz helps you generate quality leads for your business through your website.

So why are short posts better?

One of the key success principals to attracting your crowd to your website is the quantity of posts you publish.

Simply put, using shorter posts allows you to generate more of them.

How short is short?

I categorize posts into two types:

Snippet posts are between 200 and 250 words not included any verbiage you repeat in every post (if you have 50 words that are identical from post to post, your posts then become between 250 and 300 words. If you find you have 500 words worth of something to say, it becomes two posts that link to each other via Next and Previous.

Snippet posts are the focus of this post. Snippet posts are what I am calling “short”.

Pillar posts are longer (typically more than 500 words), are better researched, and are posts you might be proud enough of to share via email or some social media networking site such as Facebook.

Your website does need pillar posts as well, but not nearly as many. Although I’m just making this one detail up as I’m pretty certain no one knows for sure, I think 1 pillar post for every 10 snippet posts should be more than sufficient.

In case you’re wondering, this post is a snippet post.
