Three of the main SEO success factors are completely within your control:

Quantity: You can always publish more stuff.

Quality: You can always publish higher quality stuff.

Consistency: You can always publish stuff more often.

The final of the main four success factors is not within your control.

Longevity is a matter of getting started and staying with it. You have to put in your time. You have to start.

However it’s not enough to decide you’re going to start publishing and simply start. Of course you must do it right (this series of posts tells in great detail how) but most importantly YOU MUST PERSEVERE!!!

Everything in the Universe has a gestation period. Inbound Marketing (what some people call SEO) is no different.

When you start publishing fresh original content to a brand new website three times a day, how long you wait to see your audience start to arrive and your leads start to trickle in, varies from niche to niche, but in generation you can expect to see results in 4 or 5 months.

Seeing those results in a strong motivator for you to keep going, but how do you stay motivated until you start to see initial results?

I’m afraid I don’t have a definitive answer. You must find your own. My advise is to schedule time very day to write, and every day in one session, write and schedule your two, three, or four posts (or whatever your daily pace is) and do not allow yourself to be distracted.
