So what is an auto responder?

An auto responders is a series of pre-written email message that you send to your email subscribers, in a defined sequence at defined intervals from some initial event. Let’s say for example that you offer an eBook in exchange for a name and email address.

The downloading of the eBook is the triggering event.

You then send a series of emails at predefined intervals to stay in touch and suggest they buy what you’re selling.

Decide what content you want in your Auto responders

More specifically think about what the email’s need to say and in what order you need to say what.

Content that is generally considered useful is:

  • series of how to messages (that lead the prospect to your product by the end)
  • useful tips (that also lead the prospect to your product)
  • motivational messages
  • Etc

Generate Content for your Auto responder

After you have defined what you want to say to the people who join your email list, create the content and add it into your auto responder.

After creating the content for your auto responder, Schedule your follow-up messages to your email list via your auto responder service.

Measure your conversion performance

After developing an email marketing auto responder series for your small business, it is important to now track how many people open the email’s and how many further take the suggested action.

Generally, using an auto responder in your small business as a part of your overall email marketing strategy is the cheapest and easiest way to get involved with people who join your email list, and to convert leads into sales.
