Importance of a good optimized landing page to small businesses

Landing page optimization is necessary for successful Inbound Marketing campaigns and many small businesses build them wrong.

So what makes an effective landing page?

A good landing page has the following basic elements

1) Strong Headline

2) Content that implies answers are to be found

3) Some give a way (eBook, video, etc) in which the answers do in fact reside

4) Call-to-Action button

The main objective of developing an optimized landing page is to collect contact information in exchange for whatever it is that is being given to the visitors.

Creating a good optimized landing page involves the following.

Keyword rich title Tag: Make it of 8-10 words. Your titles need to not only be keyword rich, but enticing enough for the inquirer to want to visit it to see what they might get.

Well-Written Description:  While the content of your landing pages do count some towards Search Engine Optimization they are primarily focused on people, not search engines. And don’t talk features, talk benefits. What problems do you solve and how. Tell them that.

Content. Give your visitors information that matters to them most.

Call-to-Action. The landing page is useful ONLY if it has a call to action button through which you collect contact information.   Each page on your website has to have a desired action that you intend the visitor to take. Having a strong call to action button encourages your visitors to take the next step you want them to take.
