obtaining a first page position in a Google SERP matters

How to know if first page seo results for a certain keyword are “outrankable” or not?

The question is flawed.

The question pre-supposes your desire is to rank on page 1 for “a” keyword.

Mature websites rank for hundreds of keyword phrases.

A better question is how do you attract visitors to your website through organic search.

To that question there are four main success factors:

Publish a lot of content

While larger websites don’t automatically rank higher, in general the most content you have on your website the more opportunities you have to rank.

Publish good stuff

This includes the content of what you publish and how well it is formatted for SEO, which includes selecting an SEO friendly post title, an internal link, an external link, an image with a good caption and description, etc.

Publish often and at consistent intervals

If you publish one post a day, do so at the same time every day. If you publish two posts a day do so at 12 hour intervals.

Keep at it

Another general rule is older sites on which publishing has occurred for a long time tend to rank higher than newer sites, so it’s important to keep it up and keep publishing when others get tired and stop.

In Summary

Focusing on a single keyword phrase is an almost impossible task unless it’s a keyword phrase no one else is trying to rank for.

Turning your website into an online magazine where you publish a steady stream of fresh content on a variety of topics around a central theme will cause your website to rank for a large variety of keyword phrases (over time) and will dramatically improve your SEO results.
