What is link building in SEO?

How to increase authoritative websites that links to your pages

Link building is an essential part of search engine optimization.

Increasing the number of relevant and authoritative websites that links to your website is critical to successful SEO.

How can businesses grow the number of links to their site?

In this article, we discuss some of the key resources to help you kick your link building performance into the next level.

Cross Linking

Link one relevant page to another within your website.

By linking internally in your websites, you increase the relative importance of the pages being linked to. This increases the ranking of those linked to pages relative to other pages on your website.

Therefore, add at least one internal link within every blog post to pages that need a ranking boost.

Remember is to use an appropriate anchor text.

Create a marketing campaign around your great content

Publishing great content is step one. To spread it’s reach (and expose it to more people who may appreciate it enough to link to, you must promote it).

Content promotion improves your content marketing after a piece goes live.

Because promoting content exposes your content to more people, more people have a chance to see it, like it, comment upon it (which has a direct SEO benefit), and link to it.

As more people do all of the above, the ranking of your website overall and the individual post will rise.

  • I am really loving the theme/design of your blog. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility issues?
A few of my blog audience have complained about
my site not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox.

Do you have any solutions to help fix this problem?

I’m not aware of any browser compatibility issues with my site. If you’re using a free WordPress theme you’re limited to the online discussion forum for that theme. If you’re using a paid theme, you can contact the theme vendor for support.
