How to Generate More Qualified Leads from your traffic

High traffic websites generate quality leads. Right?

Not necessarily. Attracting visitors and converting visitors into leads are two different aspects of every lead generating site.

Not every website does both. High traffic without lead generation happens more often than you might think.

For small businesses, driving traffic and generating leads are both critically important, but they are very much different parts of the same effort.

The following tips will help you generate qualified leads from your traffic.

Your topics must be sufficiently narrow AND sufficiently wide

I know these two ideas may sound like they contradict each other, but they don’t.

If your website is about too many things, Google will have trouble determining what your site is about and your rankings will suffer. While there is a point where this issue disappears (think Wikipedia) it takes a long time to grow websites large enough to ignore this.

On the other hand, if your website topics are too narrow, you’ll be restricting the numbers of visitors who arrive via organic search.

Target your audience effectively

Improve generation of quality leads by targeting them with proper calls to action.

Social media platforms are good places to generate leads from your blog posts. Use media that generates quality views like LinkedIn. Facebook tends to generate more traffic, but fewer leads.

This is THE KEY to success.

Business website are actually more than just a place to display products and services.

Use your website as a resource center to provide information of value to your audience. Build trust with your audience using relevant information and this will turn visitors into qualified leads.

Let them know you know what you’re doing through the articles and stories you publish.

Improve your content marketing strategy

This is a broad topic, but the main point is to give your product or service information to your audience through content that does not directly promote your products or services. It’s not so much a question of being subtle, but rather a focus on solving problems. Once the reader has an idea that you can solve their problem, their next question is “how” and that is were references to your products or services come in.

Now that many customers know what they are looking for, make sure that you create content that best meets their needs. When you do that successful, that content will also meet your needs.
