People are busy. With the Internet and search we can start searching for the things (and services) we need. Many people have come to believe that any marketer reaching out to them through the phone is “just” trying to sell them something.

While people who market online also want to sell their stuff, the initial contact with the prospect is “softer” and people aren’t so resistant to learning more, to talking more.

The following are steps on how to generate leads without necessarily calling them.

Start your business blog

Blogging is THE way you build up your business website SEO. Anyone who tells you different is trying to sell you something.

Sharing information through blogging consistently and frequently is how your website climbs in the search rankings.

Keep a regular blogging schedule, publish relevant and useful content to your desired audience, and to use Calls to Action (CTAs) to nudge readers into become leads.

Create compelling content offers and landing pages

Creating great pieces of content is the start. With your CTAs you direct readers to your landing pages, which are focused on conversion. This is where you give away something in exchange for their contact information. This is where they transits from being a “visitor” to being a “prospect”.

Your landing pages must be clear to your audience, tell them what to expect, and clearly tell them what to do, what action to take.

Use social media

Be active on social media platforms to get your contact more in front of your potential customer where they’re active online.

To be successful on social media, consider the following

  • Post frequently
  • Respond quickly
