How to design your landing page to increase sites conversations rate

Landing pages are part of successful inbound marketing strategy for small businesses

Once you’re attracting a decent volume of visitors, how do you convert them into prospects?

By directing them to well designed landing pages.

When creating a landing page on your small business website, basic design rules matter. A subtle difference on your landing page can sometimes have a dramatic change on your conversion rate.

The way you design your landing page determines how your visitors understand what you want them to do, and provides an enticement for them to want to do it.

When visitors arrive on your landing page, they should understand the main point in a very short time possible (around 5 seconds). Understand that “badly” designed landing pages will “kill” your website conversion rate.

The following are some of the ways to design your landing pages to increase conversion rate.

Use Content, Images and videos, but Keep it Short!!!!

Short context (bullet lists, very short paragraphs, and very short videos) is the best way to express what benefit someone gets from providing their contact information.

Be clear, be definite, and keep it simple.

An image of the benefit people obtain from the use of your product or service goes a long way (“a picture is worth a thousand words”).

Use welcoming images

I know I’m being repetitive but this is important. The key here is to focus on benefits, not features. I’ll use the example of phone services. Phone services are pretty boring. We take them for granted.

Don’t show an image of a phone, show an image of someone closing a deal while talking on the phone. Of course this requires some form of captioning, but you get the idea.

Use contrasting and sharp colors on your Heading and CTA

Your customers are humans, and they are naturally attracted to contrasting and sharp colors. Use contrasting colors in your landing page design to highlight the sections of your page that you want to be seen.

Use contrasting colors on your heading and your call to action button. Doing this will help your business website attracting more and more visitors to your website thus increasing traffic on your website.
